Following up with the February 25th announcement of plans to launch its Educational Cyber Range based services, GLESEC initiated with a by-invitation-only session on July 7th. The July 7th event, based on a “Red Team” mission lasted three hours and gathered organizations from different sectors, Health Care, Hospitality, Government, Airlines and Academia. The realistic program started with a video introduction to the mission and continued with a two-step approach using various security techniques for achieving the goal. Participants were engaged in a game of offensive security at an introductory level.
GLESEC’s offering will provide organizations of all sizes with access to learn offensive and defensive techniques in a real and safe environment using commercial security tools and a portfolio of scenarios at various degrees of complexity in a cloud setting.
Industry organizations predict many job openings for personnel with skills to address cybersecurity attacks in enterprises and organizations worldwide. Yet, this is not something that can be learned in production environments such as a nuclear power plant or any real business environment. The training has to be realistic, controlled and repeatable. This is where the Cyber Range comes in to play. Cyber-Range is analog to a shooting range and provides professional security personnel with the opportunity to safely test and learn how to better protect their networks against cyber-attacks. GLESEC’s plans include a curriculum supported by the most advanced Cyber-Range engine, a combination of theory and practice in a custom environment.
“Our cyber range simulator is the analog of a real operations center that gives trainees a place to try things securely and safely”, says Sergio Heker, a cybersecurity expert and internet pioneer who is GLESEC’s CEO.
GLESEC has operational experience in cyber security and cyber compliance through its network of secured operation centers. The introduction of a cyber-range platform and training highly complements the wide portfolio of managed security services and leverages the expertise of the GLESEC personnel into a training environment.
GLESEC continues its on-going process of innovation to provide more value to its clients while leading the market with the largest and most organized set of cyber-security, cyber-compliance, and cyber-training services in the industry.
“We have researched various options for a Cyber Range platform and found Cympire the most advanced gamified technology to use. Our partnership and future development and collaboration will continue to bring new capabilities to the market”, said Sergio Heker.
“We are incredibly happy and proud about the partnership with GLESEC. Cympire built the most advanced Cloud Native Cyber training platform available. The combination of Cympire’ s technology along with GLESEC’s presence in the US and LATAM Market, as a trusted provider of security solutions and services, creates a unique value proposition. I am confident that this partnership will drive both GLESEC and Cympire to success”, said Yaniv Shachar, Cympire CEO.
